Hi, I’m Jason DeMatteo, an author and photographer who loves telling stories, whether through words or images.

I’ve self published three books so far: Proof of Deliverance, a collection of flash fiction and short stories, Digital Decadence, a sci-fi mystery novella exploring technology and identity. My latest novella, Path Age, is a rural fantasy story where a family befriends a woodland creature who desperately needs their help. When I’m not writing, I’m behind the camera, capturing candid, real-life moments that tell their own quiet stories.

My photography is all about archiving the world around us, from decay and nature to forgotten spaces and the beauty in everyday life. Look around and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Stolen voice - I lose my voice while ordering coffee. I’m already leaning forward, already mid-word, when it disappears. My mouth keeps moving out of habit. Nothing follows. The barista waits, patient, like this is a pause I’ve earned. I will try again but still nothing.
